Under the direction of our partner José Manuel Valencia Cerasa, ABOGADOS MLV has a team of lawyers with extensive experience in infrastructure matters and project development, providing advice to important clients in the construction sector related to the execution of public works contracts, concessions, private projects, and mining.

The infrastructure area is characterized by providing close advice to our clients throughout the development of the project, including a comprehensive consultancy in all stages of the project (bidding, engineering, construct, action, and operation). The legal advisory services are especially directed to principals, contractors and consultants, in the different contractual modalities for construction, whether in the public or private sector, providing specialized advice in the development and execution of infrastructure contracts of the most varied nature (roads, bridges, stadiums, hospitals, schools, construction, massive earthworks, construction of tailings dams, reservoirs, hydroelectric power plants, photovoltaic and wind power plants, etc.). The Infrastructure Department is headed by attorney Alfredo Vial Rodríguez, who has vast experience as a lawyer for the Ministry of Public Works and its Highway Department.

Our firm offers its clients a High Complexity Litigation and Arbitration Department, directed by attorney Cristina Santibáñez Boric, with a strong focus on matters of high legal and technical complexity, especially public and private infrastructure litigation, construction contracts (bids, EPC, concessions, public works, etc.) and in contentious-administrative litigation matters, with specially trained members with vast experience in the area of dispute resolution, both in court and arbitration. Along with the conflicts associated with the infrastructure area, our Litigation Department faces matters of the most varied nature, particularly those of civil, common, racial, and administrative nature, interacting with the various departments of office to face the litigation with a specialized vision and according to the nature of each specific matter. Our expertise is focused on judicial and arbitration proceedings and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, followed before all the courts of our country and specialized panels, and extends to national and international arbitrations followed by the main arbitration centers in Chile and abroad (ICC, ICSID).
